Why cardiologist take Angiography test?

You consult your regular physician when you experience discomfort or issues in your chest. However, you might have a severe heart-related problem if your physician cannot treat you. In such cases, they will advise you to visit a cardiologist who can offer better heart diagnosis treatment.

What does a cardiologist do?

A cardiologist is well-trained in treating heart-related disorders. Cardiologists study MBBS for five and a half years at a reputable institute. Furthermore, they complete three years of MD course and another three years of DM course.

In addition, a cardiologist is well-known for treating clogged arteries or veins and supervising optimal blood flow. They also examine the blood pressure and diabetic conditions.

Responsibility of a cardiologist:

  • Adequately consulting a patient

  • Performing diagnosis test

  • Treat and prevent heart disorders

  • Conduct surgery

Types of cardiologists:

  • General cardiologist

  • Heart failure cardiologist

  • Congenital cardiologist

  • Interventional cardiologist

  • Cardiovascular surgeon

The patient chooses his cardiologist depending on the type of heart problem. For example, you must visit a heart failure cardiologist if your organ has failed.

What do we need Angiography?

General cardiologists conduct Angiography to understand cardiac problems better. Regular X-rays don't give efficient results of the underlying issues in your arteries or veins. Therefore, cardiologists run angiography on patients.

First, a dye is injected into your bloodstream to highlight veins and blood vessels. X-ray monitor shows your blood vessels and blood flow and generates a report.

Why is angiography necessary?

Angiography helps doctors to understand cardiac problems more efficiently than the usual X-ray machine. It diagnoses heart problems such as Atherosclerosis (narrow arteries that restrict optimal blood flow), peripheral arterial disease, angina, brain aneurysms, and blood clots.

How are Angiography tests performed?

  • Doctors give a sedative to patients.

  • Nurses assist the patient lying down on the X-ray table. A doctor makes a minor incision on the top of an artery.

  • The doctor inserts a catheter in the patient's artery.

  • Now, they inject a dye into the catheter.

  • Finally, X-ray pictures appear on the monitor as the pigment regulates in the patient's blood vessels.

You should take an angiography test in Delhi NCR or any heart-related symptoms for better diagnosis.
